Almost a summer day, had to strip off a few layers!
I have a feeling it will not be long before they drill this field with Spring Beans. (maybe this week)
Spend nearly 2 hours at the Fan's Site end & only got 1 scrappy (a surprising distance from the rest!), a 17th C Lead Cloth Seal, 17th C Button & bits...
OTWBTTC (rounding off our morning session to 2 hrs 15 mins) - Got 1 small scrappy & a Roman Ring Bezel that looks like it was badly cast or in a fire. Plus a Hob-Nail.

After lunch we did 3 hrs gridding at the other end on the big grid & got:
4 Scrappies
Bit of a Roman Fibula
Tudor Button
Tudor Clothes Fastener
1911 Shilling
Hammered of Ed I
circa 1272.

OTWBTTC we spent 15 mins (taking us to 5.5 hrs) trying an Iron Age area where I got a 1st C AD Roman Brooch.

Yeap, more silver, mostly at the far ditch end.

We are nearly over most of the slightly curving lump feature & the Roman Coins seem to have stopped. But we will prove it on this next grid.

The hammered 1272 survived quite well Cru'...
You certainly earn your finds with the time put in.

Always a joy to see your recoveries!

The last days out before most options are gone....you saved Silver from being out in the ground for another year!

They were drilling this field with Spring Wheat yesterday (so my guess was right). We still have a couple of weeks after drilling. But the clock is now ticking.
