Fan's Roman Site - CELTIC GOLD!!!

Thanks again to Land-Mag who dropped me off again & got a quick hunt himself.
I finished off the back of the Roman Metal Working Site with a few brooches but only 1 coin. When Dad arrived I told him to go around the corner to Fan's Roman Site & try there whilst I explored to far end of the Metal Working Site. I was hoping it expanded a little more, because the brooches were heading in that direction. After only 20 minutes Dad comes over & lays a Celtic Gold Coin in my hand plus a nice Roman Coin.:headbang:
Dad did just over 1 hour & I did 4.5.

2 Medieval Buckles
5 Roman Coins
2 Celtic Brooches
4 Roman Brooches
1 Roman Pin
Hammered Penny (York Mint) Edward IV
Early Whadden Chase Gold Stater circa 55BC-45BC.

Not only did Dad get 2 Celtic Gold Coins this month, a new record for him, but this is our 3 Celtic coin dating to 50BC (2 Gold & 1 silver). This site is our best early site by a long way!:icon_thumright:

The right time is dead on. It had a deep plough & is now very flat. This is area we have covered in previous years.

That was a cracking day for Crudad! Beautiful Stater. Congrats! You did well too. Amazing how many brooches came out of that site.

Wow ! Cru Dad is tearing it up all right ! I love the look of the Hammered Penny too - Amazing !!!!

Crisp looking gold, congratulations.

I'm speechless. Congrats on living the life Cru. Enjoy!

Steve

Oh PS: that's a banner find and my vote is going in...

Amazing coin there...Your dad is showing you how to do it in less time!! Congrats to both of you.

Awesome GOLD coin. :occasion14: Most of us MDers will never find a gold coin and look at you, 3 this month. Does the term Bogart ring a bell? Just kidding.

Yeap, the brooches were behind the coin spread.

No need, Dad is not a member, therefore its a wasted vote.

That's certainly a jaw dropper, congrats on your 3rd gold state as a team, well done gents

The 3 coins from 50 BC are 2 Gold & the fragment of a silver that I got yesterday.

Nope, 2 Gold & 1 silver.

We have had 3 Gold off this field all together, which is a new record for any of our land.

Nope, just 2 this year. Brings the our total to 12.

Man that gold coin is gorgeous, but I also like the look of the Roman - nice patina and crisp detail. Give your dad yet another attaboy for me.

Cru,

I see your dad kicked your butt on this hunt.....beauty of a gold stater.

Regards + HH

Bill
