Todays better finds here in Southern Cali.
the area dates to 1800s-1930s..

Can anyone tell what the two marks on the ring are? Something fell off perhaps, a stone?
Also, what kind of metal is the ring likely to be?

& For the key. My guess would be for a jewelery box or something like that. What do you think?

Thanks for any input!

That's a good guess on the key, an armoire, dresser drawers, hope chest.
Th ring, I'm guessing maybe be someone made and attempted to put stones on it, not sure what the metal is, could be silver.

Nice finds!

Fancy looking key, nice find.

It's the key to a treasure chest undoubtedly. But what is a key without a lock to a chest that you do not have? In the words of Jack Sparrow, "If you don't have the key, you can't open whatever you don't have that it unlocks. So what purpose would be served in finding whatever need be unlocked, which we don't have, without first having found the key what unlocks it?" :laughing7: :icon_pirat: Seriously though, that's an awesome looking little key
