This is my sum of 8 hours of work to include the trash picture. I've included the trash picture to show anyone new to the process of how sometimes you can have a productive day, but still have a pile of garbage, but then you can just simply have a day of garbage without anything exciting to show for it. (If scrap aluminum went to $20 and ounce, I would be digging up everything and getting rich in the process)
All these pictures are stuff dug straight from the ground in their purest form. I only cleaned a few items to see what they were in order to write more credibly on them.
I went back out to the lot today where I had found the token and handful of wheat pennies this past Thursday. It started out fairly slow with me only finding a single wheat and clad pennies. I slowly worked my way to where I had found the token earlier in the week. I found a few more wheats (I had to really work the signals for these) and then I found the first silver coin of the day:
It wasn't 1 minute later and 3 feet away, I found my second and then two wheats back to back. I am not sure if they were in the same hole because I walked off with the Mercury dime to show my buddy, but they were close. I also haven't cleaned them up yet for a date. I think one is in the 40s and the other in the 20s. I've only had a handful of times this year where I dug silver back to back like this. 80% of the time, they appear in singles.
I found a total of only 3 wheats on the lot and then I had permission at a 20s house and I was able to find 2 more. I then found 1-2 more next to a sidewalk toward the end of the day. Interestingly one is holed and I have never found one like this. I have found bent wheats and even one flattened by a train.
The Wheats:
(These are the wheats and finds from Friday during a really short hunt at another place):
Here is everything I found for today:
Toys:
Cool button:
Cool Relics:
I think this is a old water hose end and the front of an old lock. It says "Trojan 8 Levers". This will look real nice after I tumble it.
Scrap metal to take to the scrape yard:
MOST of the trash (admittedly I left big deep stuff in the ground). This doesn't look like much, but it is about 4 pounds of junk that was swinging on my belt all day.
And thanks for letting me get on the "soap box" again. Good luck in your digging and non-digging adventures.
