Railway Hill - Day 2......

Spent 4 hours on this field. Very pleasing results for this time of year & some of our worst land.

I love the tiny complete Medieval Spur buckle. 8)

The hammered is Edward I circa 1300, Lincoln Mint. My first Lincoln mint of any King ;D

18th century clog memorabilia is always nice.

What is unusual is the 'urn' decoration, often found on 18th century cufflinks & thought to be 'mourning' wear. So they had 'mourning' clogs as well ::)

still getting cool stuff I see!

What is the little ring depicting the snake eating its tail? Ouroboros, I believe, such a thing is called. Very cool. Congratulations

We have about two days on the Railway hill, another area of failed crop (1/2 a days worth). Also the newbie has found another game strip.

Hey Cru whats happening to all the crops now? So many failed crops, why do they fail. And what was a game strip again?

Is the Joseph Lucas, Ltd. item a token or a medallion off one of their "King of the Road" carbide lamps?

The English attach buckles to our Zinc Lincoln pennies? For the love of God, why?

Not that many really, only 3 fields. Rabbits & crows.

Game strip is normally on the edge of farmers land to hold the game birds & stop them wondering else where (big money for the shots). Its planted last with sweet corn (2 weeks time) to give tall bird cover & food.

it doesn't seem old enough to come of those lights but maybe :icon_scratch: I thought it was a button top to start with, as there are no signs of attachments on the reverse. Its plain on the back but moulded & not flat. Not a token, but no idea what it attached to really?

I can't stand it anymore. I finally have to ask you: What is a Roman scrappie? Is it a Roman coin that hasn't much value because it's very common, or in bad condition?

Do you find many of these (see below)? I bought one as a souvenir for a pound in London in 1998, from a guy who had a bucketful.
