My guess is late Victorian renaissance revival button front. Possible depicting Zeus.

Here is a rare silver denarius from 48BC, thought to be the head of Vercingetorix. Its one I have in my collection. There is a Celtic Gold Stater with his head but its worth about £100,000 ($200,000). Still saving up for it :wink:

It was probably a medallion type piece brought from France.

Nearly right. 300 year old is what I consider modern
