F2 Detector

F2 is good and so is the Ace 250

I prefer Fisher over Garrett but that's just me
You can get hold of Miller MDZ under the vendors on here and ask him his opinion HH

The F-2 is a fine starter as are the Tesoro line up. What you get for more money is more features which the most important of which is ground balancing.

Go NAVY.....:hello:

The f2 is a great starter unit. We offer a package with an extra small coil and Fisher Fpoint pinpointer for a few dollars more than the basic unit. The F2 has Target ID numbers, depth reading, notch capabilities and a pinpoint function.

Don't know if you're still looking, or reading this. But my 2 cents on the Fisher is great. Granted I have less than 2 weeks experience but I really like the machine. Go for the package deal , and you will be set to go to the field on day one. I have to say , I used a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV for the first few days , and I loved it too. That machine is so simplistic, that it makes MD'ing almost instinctive. I also found a few hours learning curve to readjust to the temperment of the F2 - vs- BHT4. Nothing wrong , they just behave a bit differently.

Overall , the F2 is a fine machine to start with and should suffice for years to come.

I just purchased my second F2-2 coil combo after having one about 2 years ago. It really is an awesome detector from my experience, with great tones and good depth. The target ID takes a little time to learn and it is always still a guess, but it is a useful tool. I dig mostly by the tones anyway. The pinpoint and depth meter functions work great. Can't really go wrong with the F2 and there are some awesome deep coils available for it.
