F-4 huntin' a tree today

;D
Ya, i've thought about hunting under this tree most every time i've gone by it.
The building is being removed, so I stopped there today.
Nothing really old [ a 1957 nickle :-\ ] but I got a small silver toe ring :icon_king: and some change! :-)
When the little building is removed, i'm gonna try around that. It's from the 1960's
I'm having a good time with the F4.
It's really quite a decent machine!
One of the better ones at IDing nickles!
Nice and lightweight too!
Here's a picture of what I found with it at the tree. :laughing9:

Hello Chuck!
It sounds to me, you and the F4 are an awesome combo!
Which coil size do you prefer?

I've been spending a lot of time outside MD'ing, working the SE extremely hard. I'm having a little more luck knocking on private doors but am yet to find the perfect yard. Finding the older coins is my incentive as clad just doesn't do it for me! :)

Take care and "That gold is there; I know it is!"

Hi GRB! ;D
Yes, there was no learning curve to speak of, just a bit of learning to evaluate the ID numbers.
I tried some tests with the 8" concentric and 11" DD back and forth and I now use the 11" DD all the time.
Pinpointing and separation are a little easier with the 8" but not enough to make me switch! :-\
I have never been good at knocking on doors, but I still do it some. Of course, those private properties are the only possible untouched detecting spots left!
For Gold, i'm thinking of cleaning up a park, 1 sector at a time. If I remove all the junk, i'm likely to get some jewelry with it too!
HH and thanks again my friend!!! :icon_sunny:

Old trees can be a nice place for people to escape the heat and have a picnic, like they did often in the old days

Re: F-4 huntin' a tree today

Yes, in fact, here's a thought i've had from time to time.
If you could find an old tree along the side of an older road or highway and mow or weedeat it, you could probably find old coins from where road workers sat on breaks during their work day!

I bet those ones you see out in the middle of a corn field would be a good start

Re: F-4 huntin' a tree today

Great idea, I've hunted trees because they present places for people to sit and cool down. The problem is, the trunk and roots eventually grow over... other way, great digs! Keep those trees in mind, everybody
