Hey guys... was shopping at Wal-Mart today and was going through the clearance items and there were some really good deals in there. I saw this item:

http://www.amazon.com/Eyeclops-61081-EyeClops-BioniCam/dp/B00153C5KY

Normally $49.99, on clearance for $25!

It takes pics and video and works at 100x, 200x and 400x. It has a little USB thumbdrive that plugs into the device for media storage, which makes it truly portable.

Here are some pics I took tonight of a half dollar and $5 bill at 100x:

And 200x for the $5 bill:

And some video of a half dollar at 100x:

I would also like to mention that I significantly reduced the image sizes... they were 1280x1024 when before I reduced them to 400 wide. The video is untouched by me (youtube messes with it a little though, but it started at 320x240 @ 30fps and ended up basically untouched).

I got this for my son and I to mess around with... and while it's not the easiest thing to use... really what portable microscope is, right? For $25 you can't beat this thing... I think it's awexome :)

It even comes with a VIDEO-OUT cable and we plugged it into the 42" TV and the colors were much better than the built in screen... everything looked awexome! Best $25 I've plunk down in a while.

Wow! That is awesome! Might have to check and see if our local WallyWorld has those laying around!

Thanks for the info!

You're welcome Beetle, I hope some others get some benefit from this thing.

I was looking at that one too, but ended up getting an epix MM 640 digital microscope. It will zoom in from 26x up to 130x. I haven't played with it much yet but here is a penny that I messed around with. Picked it up on ebay for $25.

Yeah the 26x is nice because you get a farther away shot... this thing is really for looking up close. Here's a penny off my floor at 100x. This is as far away as I can zoom... the images are also reduced by 50%

Here's a couple pics of my one and only 1914-p barber dime for comparison:

I hope you guys can get one!

Get some rechargeable batteries though because mine ate up 5 batteries in about 2 or 3 hours of playing around. They were cheap alkalines though that were laying around since about a year ago so who knows.

Thanks, now there is something else that I have to buy... >:(
Those are sweet!!!! I wanna get one too!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Geez, you boys and your toys, heading there in the morning!
Thanks for the heads up Brett!
Gotta get some hidey holes to slide that thing into.

For anyone local to me, if you can't find one let me know... my Wal-Mart had at least 3 more or so.

They are $49 out in Northlake. :'(

There's two models, one states it's for TV use, the other has a USB plug in. They were several aisles apart in the toy section at Wallyworld here. The one you got Brett, cost 35 bucks here. Now I'm playing with it too.

Big Lots, (if you have one in your area), has them for $19.99 (the video-out models) No USB.
