Eyeball find,iron buckle

It's pretty big for a buckle( around 4 inches long)anyone have a guess what it went on and how old? I'm itching to go back to this site with my metal detector so bad and have given my mister the oerson's name to call who owns the property . Whenever I ask for permission I feel just like Ralphie in A Christmas story where he asks for the Red Rider BB gun and gets told he's gonna shoot his eye out! My husband is much smoother than me.

What kind of clamp Quindy? Yes I did find a point last week in a pretty deep hole where underneath was a modern day valve to turn on a steam shower(rolleyes) Susan I thought it could have been overall clip as well but wondered why it would be iron and not brass? Ahhh another mystery. Jay Gee you are incorrigible!
