Yesterday Cru'Dad spent a couple of hours on an area we call 'The Hill' where some oilseed rape had failed. He got a few buttons & a Roman Coin.
Today we wanted to try 2 new fields but we had very little success, other than the 3rd Field which we had tried before produced a Random Roman Fibula.
Picture includes Dads finds yesterday & our 3.5 hour hunt today.

Livery Button
Squashed Medieval Buckle
Heart Shaped Mount
Roman Fibula
Sherry/Whiskey sized Barrel Tap

Well you don't always score, some good finds nevertheless

Where in the heck to you keep all your finds? By the looks of your digs, you had to build an addition on the house or erect a pole barn just to house all your amazing finds. :tongue3: I'm always amazed at the wealth of old objects you dig. :notworthy:

Great finds Cru. Excellent assortment of buttons.

Steve

The potential your new fields have would keep me up the night before, and I don't think I would want to stop looking.

I have dug a livery button very similar if not exactly the same here in the California Gold Country in an old 1850's (well, old for us anyways, lol) mining camp. Would really enjoy seeing a pic of some of your livery buttons all in a group if that was ever possible to do.

I have this old photo of my Liverys but I've added a lot since. I have about 170 different types, lots of repeats so maybe 250ish.
Although I never sell very much I did sell some of my Liverys in the early days before I got interested in buttons. (So maybe another 50 on top)

Spare room or like my late Grandad stated 'it looks like a garage'....

It was what we call a blind search, the 'new fields' (unsearched) are actually old permissions that had very little potential (no intel or research leads), unless you like a crashed Sterling Bomber. We did them as we have very little choice right now, & this is the time to take risks. We all know it only takes 1 good find in a bad field.

PS. If you ever visit, I know where to stick you.

Lots of targets and potential for the fields, nice Fibula. What's the coin/button in the lower left of the #3rd photo?
