Explorer S

I WISH I could find some people around me that would hunt with an MXT. Every time I take a new person out and they see me find several silver coins and they can't hear any with their machine, they quickly go and purchase an Explorer. I should stop being so nice, ha.

I'm across the border in Indiana. If you have any old spots and need some help learning your Explorer, I would gladly come help. :hello: haha

??? I'm still just a few months into this hobby. I have 3/4 of an acre yard I've owned for 17 years I'm going back over. The only thing old here is me! :laughing9: I've been contacting lacal park administrators asking to hunt in the parks. Most say it's ok but I still need to get a permit, which are free. They just want to keep track of who is digging I spec. My main goal at the moment is get proficient with this Explorer. I'm headed to Daytona Beach in July with it. :coffee2:

Please, please, please quit asking to hunt public parks where it is already OK to detect in. There are countless posts on this site explaining why.

There is a post from just last night. If you want to read more on the topic, Tom has countless more posts explaining why not to ask permission. There is always somebody that will tell you no when there is no law against it. And if you point this out to them, they may even go ahead and write that law just for your sake.

I don't hunt parks, but do agree with the philosophy of letting sleeping dogs lie when it comes to detecting. When seeking info. it's much better to do it from your peers.

Hummmmm....point taken! :icon_thumright:

Hey IP! I've not seen anything in print about "ground Balancing" the Explorer like you need to do with the Whites. Is this not important with Minelabs? Or is it just implied?

The Minelab is basically a turn on and go machine. There is no silly ground balancing or setting changes needed unless you change the type of hunting that you plan on doing it, and that is still a judgment call.
