I hope you find a jar of gold coins

1870-1964, 90+ years of silver coins in circulation. Certainly there was silver coins dropped in that time frame. Why didn't you find any? Someone already MD it? Landscape change? Just curious for info.

Its not always that easy.

I really don't know. Owner says its 1870's. county records indicate 1900's but their records aren't always accurate. Around the front I could tell the porch was redone and the original brick city sidewalk is now cement. The back porch was newer and probably covered up the original sidewalk. Also a brick patio was put in and covered up a lot of backyard. The side porch and front was covered with groundcover plants so I didn't get a chance to get real close to the house. When I first asked for permission the wife said that they were asked before and the husband declined but the house is empty now and they decided to let me. But as far as I know it hasn't been detected recently. This was a thriving city up till the steel mill decline and the city has since went downhill. Population is on a steady decline ever since the 60-70's. I have came to the conclusion that during the depression there wasn't much money around this county. I have done 1900's, 1920's and 30's homes in this county and many have turned up few or none. My detector is working. I'm finding the coins. I dig every signal in the high 60's, 70's and 80's with my atpro. Also my buddy with a couple year old white's has been with me on many of these digs and he's had worse luck than me. Time was a factor. I wouldn't say I rushed but I had a 2 hour window. I plan on going back when I have more time and possibly in the spring again.

I've hunted the same old homestead for over a year now off and on with three different machines and finally found my first silver (44 merc) with an AT Pro 5x8 coil. It's all about conditions/trash levels and equipment. My two othe machines which was a GTI 2500 and a Minelab SE pro passed over this quite a few times but the larger coils were picking up on junk signals and I passed. It's not always as easy as silver is there, silver is found. Good hunt anyways.
