I got a bright idea to metal detect a beach. So I talked Camb1 into going with me.
All we had to do was slip my canoe in and paddle just around the cove.
It all went down hill or should I say up sh!t creek without a paddle!
We had to battle the wind and my canoe only wanted to go in circles. What seemed like 100 coves later we arrived, in reality it was 5.
The weatherman had predicted a severe cell to enter the area. Early today it came through but we had no idea a encore was on its way.
We hunted the beach for 20 minutes. I found 3 quarters. One of which was in a two foot hole someone else had dug. It was sitting on edge. One of the quarters had been in the water for quite a while. Later I found 2 penny's.
Just as the weather began to get bad I found cheapie ring. Any ring puts a smile on my face.
As we gathered our stuff and loaded the canoe back up I saw what looked like something you would see in a movie. The eye of the storm came upon us in a flash. I won't get into how we had to abandon the canoe ad the mile walk to find the road only to find a gate and the back to the lake to paddle out the storm. At one point I was going to strap my life preserver to my metaldetector.
I'm alive! Do me a favor, if I mention a slick little idea like this tell me to shut the front door.
Happy Hunting!
