I concur with Therover's thoughts on the CZ vs the Excal. I too prefer the CZ-20 over the Excal now that I am stuck inland. You just have to learn the detectors as I feel they are equal on depth. The Sov GT is like a Excal but with more options which the most important of which is the ability to change coils for more depth yet, but it isn't waterproof.
Sandman ..What do you mean you prefer the CZ-20 now that you are stuck inland............. Do you use your CZ-20 for your inland hunting ?
Heck no Keppy. The CZ-20 is a water detector and I have many others for land hunting. I use it in fresh water now. I used to use my DFX till I gave it to a friend. I like the Sov GT but my go to land unit for the parks and what ever is the Tejon. It has found dimes at over a foot, but like the Sov GT you don't know what it is till you get it up. However what I like about the Sov GT is I have the Sunray S-1 inline probe for it and it is like a 1" coil run off the detector circuits and disc. It is impossible to tell which detector is deeper. I can only use one at a time. If I felt the need to use something like the CZ-20 I can use my CZ-6a, the land version.

So from the reviews it sounds like the CZ21 and the Excal are very close in their abilities......factor in the CZ21 is cheaper and has much better customer service and its an easy decision.

Feel free to holler at me on either for questions or pricing. Thanks, Bart
