Heck no Keppy. The CZ-20 is a water detector and I have many others for land hunting. I use it in fresh water now. I used to use my DFX till I gave it to a friend. I like the Sov GT but my go to land unit for the parks and what ever is the Tejon. It has found dimes at over a foot, but like the Sov GT you don't know what it is till you get it up. However what I like about the Sov GT is I have the Sunray S-1 inline probe for it and it is like a 1" coil run off the detector circuits and disc. It is impossible to tell which detector is deeper. I can only use one at a time. If I felt the need to use something like the CZ-20 I can use my CZ-6a, the land version.Keppy said:Sandman ..What do you mean you prefer the CZ-20 now that you are stuck inland............. Do you use your CZ-20 for your inland hunting ?Sandman said:I concur with Therover's thoughts on the CZ vs the Excal. I too prefer the CZ-20 over the Excal now that I am stuck inland. You just have to learn the detectors as I feel they are equal on depth. The Sov GT is like a Excal but with more options which the most important of which is the ability to change coils for more depth yet, but it isn't waterproof.
