I got to detect all afternoon at my girlfriends's grandma's house today. The house was built in 1951 and the yard had never been searched. After I had detected for a few hours all I had to show was 6 Wheaties and around $1.00 in change. I then decided to detect around the house next door which was her great aunt's yard. It was built around the same time and also had never been searched. Within 10 minutes in the backyard I had 4 more Wheaties (10 in a day is a record for me) and a few more clad coins, but the signals quickly dried up. The Wheaties are 1938, 39, 42, 44(2), 45(2), 46(2), and 55. Next I moved to the front yard where I got a really good signal about 3 inches down and a few feet from the front sidewalk. After digging down and unfortunately nicking the right side of the coin, I unearthed this 1938 Walking Liberty Half! It's in really good shape and is my 2nd WL Half. I still haven't found a silver quarter, but now have 2 halves. That was one of my last good signals and all in all I had a good day. I ended up with $1.90, including the half and 10 Wheaties. HH everyone!
