XP DEUS II ,XP DEUS, EQUINOX 800, EXCALIBUR II,

All Treasure Hunting
I have the 800, but it will never see water.
That's what my Excal II is for :)

And I actually like the Excal more than I do the 800....

That's not good... :( How many hours you think you had on it? I've seen a few go down that my friends use in the water also....Good Machine, some seem to have water issue's...

The good is ...................I've seen they turn around and send everyone a New machine...Fast.

Good Luck..

Wonder if the ie is some type of cutoff date that just possible Minelab could have made a change and fixes it I hope.
Wonder if after a certain date they are ok.
just a thought here.

I have dunked it before when I first got it replaced and it was fine. I have used it a ton on land.

What was the date you bought your first one? Two years from that date is when the warranty will expire (I think it s 2) regardless of how many replacements or replacement parts you have had since then. Someone else found out awhile back and posted it here somewhere so I guess late this fall the warranties will start to go out. Maybe get another water machine.

Unfortunately, I agree with Deepseeker. I decided long ago that my EQXs will not be submersed...at least intentionally. If I ever go beyond knee deep water, I’ll use the Excal.

I say “unfortunately” because I’m disappointed that the EQX isn’t as reliably waterproof as advertised.

Sorry to hear.

And what a pain in the arse.

Personally... I consider it great that warranty is good with ML.

And I also consider having to send any detector in to be repaired once... let alone twice... a real pain in the arse.

I don't want to send a detector or anything in... ever. heh

Smokey the warranty is getting close ....Excal will be the only one dunked after warranty runs out.

I wish I could afford an Excalibur but that’s way way too expensive for me to ever be able to have so I just have to keep that idea as a dream.

Calabash, you are wise. Use the Excal in the water.

I have not intentionally submerged my 800. However, one day at the beach I was in knee deep water and slipped/tripped and the 800 went under water. It was under water for maybe 10 seconds.

It turned off and would not turn back on. Minelab replaced it for me. I do not plan to submerge mine again if I can help it

Wonder if the same is also with the 600.

I threw mine in the bath tub submerged for about half an hour no problem. I used it a couple of times to water hunt no problems so far. I ordered waterproof headphones and I'm ready to hit the lakes.

family time no videos...

Wishful thinking !

Sorry to hear of your drowning. Hopefully your third one knows how to swim. If not,..XP water kit works great!!

My cousins nox drowned on him the other day 1st time in the water, I think its safe to say this machine is not waterproof and ML may be guilty of false advertising.
Haven't dunked mine yet, very disappointed the way this is panning out - "Waterproof" was a factor in my purchase, along with many others.
