I had an absolutely EPIC metal detecting trip in Croatia! My friends Aaron, Nikki and Geoff were with me and between us we found 13 GOLD RINGS, a GOLD MEDALLION, 3 SILVER RINGS, A SILVER CHAIN, 150 EUROS and MORE! Did I mention that 4 of these rings had DIAMONDS!

UGGHHHH, I been in the rain belt for a month now, rain everyday...... :BangHead:
I was wondering about metal detecting rules over there, thanks for the vid.
I got my plans to split for Split, maybe next year....... :laughing7:

I'll be near Split next June and September. Give me a shout when you know you're coming over!

thanx for putting that together. You will give George Lucas and Steven Spielberg a run for their money. In fact, I'd rather watch your movies anyday! ha

LOL! Thanks Tom!

Man that is great, I spend about 7 weeks out of the year down there and rack up tons of hours in MDing at a resrot with about 4 kilometers of private beach. Been doing this for about the last decade and never once found any gold. Normal day about 800 Kuna on average and at least 15 silver pieces. I have always done better on land than diving in that area.

Next time your down there, if you have the time go check out Sibenik, I can send you the locations I go for good land hunts and one spot great for diving. However I have never found any gold, sure it is there, lots of silver and lots of Kuna to exchange on the side of the road.

Congrats again though, Gold in Croatia is like finding honesty in our White House right now, its there, just hard to do.

I lived in Croatia for 12 years and my wife is Croatian and is from Murter. We go there 2-3 times per year. My step daughter works in Sibenik so I go there quite often! Are you speaking of the private resort Solaris? If so, it's a beautiful place but I didn't find much of anything there except bullets, cannon shells and a live hand grenade! LOL!

Yeah thats correct, Solaris. I have not found any munitions live or spent there in about 3 years now. Just lots of silver and Kuna. Further up the way there like your head to town is that nice marina with them very high end boats, good place to dive and find stuff. Had some great fishing out there too from my Yak but Split is way better.

Now if you go out by that old fort on the water and follow that around the other way back to that old Kasern where they put up all that outdoor workout stuff, like on your way to the old cave church, there you still find lots of live munitions and weapons in the water. Last time we where diving there a police boat stopped in on us and said we should look out for the stuff as well, like no kidding man.

Then further out through the canal on those little islands is always nice MDing too, but still only found silver and Kuna.

There is a national forest just outside of town about an hour away, found the best cheese I have ever had out on this old farm in the middle of that national forest. Just brought back a few kilograms about 8 days ago.

I will be head to Split her in another week for more of the trial currently going on. I was happy to see they stood their ground on this one and that is is being held there. He is just going to love Croatian prison, and at his age, watch out now. LOL

Must of been one heck of an economic switch going from Croatia to Germany, do not get me wrong I enjoy here in Germany, but man they need to really work on those prices compared to the people. Croatia is great for the outdoors, culture and prices.

now that is what I call an dream come true! Congrats on a great day and find!

Congrats on the beautiful rings and awesome hunts! Truly EPIC!

Are you talking about Vasiljkovic? When I was with the OSCE, part of my AO was Glina. Vasiljkovic caused a lot of death and suffering there. Let justice be served.

I found out that during the war, there was an Anti-Aircraft battery positioned on the beach near one of the new hotels. This is the same battery that shot down two Jugoslav MiG 21's in 1991, hence all of the UXO's in that area.

I'll be heading to Brac over New Years to do some underwater metal detecting. I found 3 gold rings there on 2 tanks of air last New Years. Probably could have found more, but all of the dive shops were closed. I'm bring 6 tanks on this next trip!

Thanks for the info! If you're ever near Grafenwoehr, give me a shout!
