Don't know anything about it, but it sure looks like its old, like 1880s, and silver. Any markings on the back?

man that thing is cool. don't know anything about it, but I agree it is probably 1880's - 1890's. might be worth some bucks to a baseball collector

Might have been part to a trophy? Pretty cool though.

A baseball infield is square , not a diamond .......... maybe u can research the design as to when the "diamond" design was popular

I see you found it in two pieces, the body and the "tail". Any indication of remnants of loops on top or bottom, as if it was a suspension badge? Or, is the rust on the reverse an indication of a horizontal steel pin that has long since rotted away...From the engraving style it sure looks like a late 1800's award, college, high school, municipal league. Very cool, Sub 8-)

The "tail" snapped off, doesn't appear it was a pin. Still waiting for an ID!
