ENCOUNTER WITH BIG BAD BROWN SNAKE AND LOST NEW CAMERA

HEY EVERYONE, SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE BAD DAYS AND MINE WAS THIS AFTERNOON. I,M LUCKY THAT ONLY GOT TO WALK 500 YARDS TO GO MDING. HAD A LITTLE RAIN LAST NIGHT. SO I THOUGHT I MIT GO FOR A WANDER DOWN THE LOCAL WATERWAY TO SEE WHAT HAD BEEN WASHED UP.SO WALKING ALONG THE CREEK BED AND SPOTTED AN OLD BOTTLE AND PROCEEDED TO DIG IT UP. SUDDENLY I HEARD NOISE BEHIND ME, AND LOOKED OVER MY SHOULDER,I COULDN,T BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A 5 FOOT EASTERN BROWN SNAKE A FEW FEET A AWAY FROM ME. BROWN SNAKES ARE VERY VENOMOUS AND VERY AGGRESSIVE IF PROVOKED.I STAYED EVERY STILL AND PRAYED LIKE HELL UNTIL THE SNAKE MOVED ON. WHEN I BROKE THE WORLD RECORD FOR THE 100 METRE SPRINT BUT IN MY HASTY RETREAT I DROPPED MY NEW CAMERA, WHICH I ONLY GOT TODAY.I GOT THE CAMERA SO COULD POST SOME PHOTOS OF MY FINDS. SORRY FOLKS NO CAMERA , NO PHOTOS AND A BIG HOLE IN MY POCKET. DID GET THE BOTTLE WHEN WENT BACK LOOKING FOR THE CAMERA. DATES ABOUT 1840.

Hey tinpan, sorry about the camera, I know they are not cheap... Umm got my camera on my cellphone..... Well poisnous snakes here in South Africa are plenty..... The Cobra and wrinkler can spit 15 - 20 feet and straight into your eyes.... And the Puffadder will cause you to lose a limb very quickly. I have come across all of these, but never bitten thanks to God. Ireland are lucky, they do not have snakes <hahaha must have something to do with the four leaf clover> Anyway I trust and pray that you will find your camera, and not inside of the snake.

Naaah, that was St. Patrick. Drove all the snakes out of Ireland.

They have no snakes there due to it is an island. Do your research. This was started by the church to promote faith. Check the facts out. If you want to go with the drove the snakes out story, also add the dragons and Worms legends.

OK, this is getting way too far off topic, but I will post one final explanation that I never dreamed would have been necessary.


Only in the realm of Irish mythology are four leaf clovers lucky. Idont like snakes I wear snake chaps when going to swampy areas around here just 2 days ago was checking out a possible civil war site went by a couple of swamp water holes and a gator about 8 feet long was on a grass bed about 20 feet from me tossed a stick at him and he slid off in to the pond did make me look where I was walking .

I think more than my knees would've been muddy. Snakes don't bother me at all, I make lots of noise and give'em plenty of time to get out of my way. Gators aren't so easy! People are on thier menu.
