The two bigger green stones were found in the stream in my yard, the tiny green one was found in the dirt (this one isn't as shiny as the other two- looks like aquamarine?) Two of the pics are the same, one with flash, one without.
I haven't a clue what these blue stones are! What are your thoughts?

The littler stones look to be aquarium rock someone threw away and the bigger stone is just natural.

I actually asked a lapidist and she seems to think the green are a 'type of emerald' but unsure what type. So I don't think they are aquarium rock, I have actually sanded a couple down. Also, I have found a few more of these and just the location and nuisance of trying to find them makes me sure they are not. The tiny green one is actually different than the two similar green ones in terms of luster. The blue I really have no idea what they could be.

I don't believe these are emeralds...sure would be nice...but they look like turquoise wannabes that moved on to being chrysocolla.

Yeah, the ones on the right don't have any crystal structure but generally have the right color for Emerald (you have to click on the pic, when the larger pic opens, click on it again to display an even larger pic and the color shows better). Can't say for sure about the two smaller stones on the left but they could be Aquamarine. My first thought was Lapis lazuli especailly the larger one on the left.

Just so that the O.P. will know Emerald and Aquamarine are both Beryls which were colored by different compositions. Also, Beryls come in practically all colors including clear or colorless.

Good information hunstman and pippin. I know copper was mined in Connecticut.. locally I am unsure. I live in North Central CT- Near the MA border. So I suppose that is possible. Also, when I sanded one down that I found last year with my dremel (I know, bad idea! lol) It was clear colored and crystal like.

How about the blue ones? Any idea? I googled "blue jasper" and the larger blue one looks a lot like that- I am hopeful ;)
