Bummer! Sorry to hear the bad news. Just my curiosity, but what did the setting look like once the stone was removed? Does it still look greenish? That would indicate at least some copper content to me.
it does and he said it has a gold copper mix?which i tried to test it again and could'nt get a good rub on the test stone, the first time i tested it,it was turning out a strong 10ct and a extremely weak 14ct( took more than 10 seconds to disappear),but i believe the main frame is copper...

:( Sorry to hear the news, I was thinking copper too, because of the patina, which is beautiful! It is still a beautiful peice, and worth finding, plus, it's still jewelry, no matter how you look at it! :headbang: I bet you will be finding gold soon, I can feel it! :headbang: Keep at it, we cannot wait to see future posts from you. Oh, and BTW, if you didn't have the bug before, I bet you do now!!!!! A fins like that gets your blood pumping big time, your welcome, so glad we could help!!!! :hello: Red :hello:

At least you got some gold, even if not as much as you wanted.<G>

And gotta agree with Red: more fins! more fins!

i don't find that much jewelry,so i'm not up to date really on jewels and gems! i've been detecting since 1993 and i'm completely addicted to it and it's almost a passionate endeavor,,i have alot of relics, silver knives, spoons, horse and mule tack, lead seals and probably over a thousand coins give or take and a few tons of junk copper, trash and don't knows...i don't even know what i've done with all of that ! lol,, it has taken me years to learn my detector and i learn more every time i use it.what's disheartning is if i had known then what i know now about the detector i could have been more prosperous with finds.in fla i had some really great spots(mostly mid 19th century) to hunt and there's no telling what i left in the ground not knowing....Thanks for the encouragement and my best wishes on your hunts to come and Be Safe !!
