Hi Crusader, Yes, I noticed that the numerals were basically the same too across the various tokens. I work with a number of Indians and ran it by a few. They told me they were old script numerals in the boxes. I was told there's a Hindu god represented by an elephant head and some sort of ritual is followed when you start a new endeavor or sorts, like a new job, business, or buy a house etc. No one recognized the token though, but they may be too young. I suspect it's a religeous/prayer token or for good luck. On Monday, I will ask some of the older blokes! :)

I think you are probably right with an Indian old style (but modern) good luck charm. :icon_thumright:

First time I've seen one turn up in the US (if that's the case) as all others have been UK. But it is more likely for me to see one from there so probbaly doesn't mean much. I can tell you they seem fairly common.

Re: Elephant Coin what is it.

good idea, the piece seems to look better that way up, & if you study the boxes they have the same numerals in them (if thats what they are) :icon_scratch: & same letters on the top

I cannot tell you what it is , just that I too found one very similar to it on the beach of the Fraser River in Surrey, British Columbia. I have also found a "Ganesha" there and other Indian (Eastern) articles pertaining to religion. I am told that half of the Indian culture believes that the Ganesha lives in the water and half believe on land.
I am thinking that it has something to do with that. I will check into it and see and get back to you .
