Was wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this. I found it in Southern Kentucky near the confluence of two creeks along the bank of the larger creek a few yards from where I found a flint spear point. The type of stone and color it is made out of is unlike anything else in the area which is mostly river rock along with some isolated flint-like material. It appears to have been hand worked with squared off edges and there are two what appear to be drilled semi-circular holes running in opposit directions at each end. Some of it appears to have been lightly polished while other parts of it are rough and unfinished. Although some of it may have broken off at some point long ago, I find it difficult to believe the uniqueness of its shape could be caused by natural processes. The location where it was discovered would be an ideal location for a prehistoric camp or village sight. To me, it appears to be some kind of effigy. It is about 4 or 5 inches long, 2.5 to 3 inches thick at its thickest point. The apparently drilled holes are about 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Could this be some kind of ancient Native American effigy, or is it just a rock?
