Early English Silverplate or Possibly Sterling Creamer? Hallmark Help

As promised, hereā€™s the little milk jug in sunlight with some friends. The small tray with glass insert came from the same sale.

The grapeleaf tray came from another a few weeks back, along with the spoons and weighted candy dish. The grape tray is really heavy and scrap value was around 200 bucks.

It's in wonderful condition. Clean it carefully if that be your plan. Use nothing harsh like some I've seen prettied up with steel wool, but I'm sure you know better. I used this stuff called Wrights Siver Cream you can get at Walmart and it works pretty well. It takes a bit of time. I find polishing silver is very therapeutic when me and my darling wife ain't talking to each other. It helps prevent me from the urge at saying something that'll make matters worse. After time she comes down to talk and I'll just keep polishing away and keep my mouth shut and I actually listen to what she's saying in a different light.

Good haul. That mark with the crown and lion passant is for the Watson Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts. They operated over a long period under various names with different marks, but I believe that style of mark dates between 1920-1955.

I use wrights for the lightly tarnished stuff and Happich for the heavy duty cleaning. For now, these will sit in the silver repository until the holidays.

Typically I pull out pieces before thanksgiving to use at the table. Like you said polishing silver is therapeutic and itā€™s a good way to polish off beers too.
