Hi Everyone,

Just got back from North Central PA - found this lead eagle head in the same area that has given up some 1860's coins......It is hollow where it broke and does appear to have some wood still inside. I think it may be a part to the top decorative piece of a flag? Just want to make sure it isn't something military related. It is 2" in length at it's longest point. Thanks!

Could it be the end of a knife handle? What type of metal is it made from

Recon.....I do belive it is lead - so does the AT PRO from the numbers but as aka mentions in his post, it seems to be harder than lead......Thanks guys.

The lead is what gets me. Very soft to use for anything unless it contains enough tin etc. Should be easy to tell if pure lead. Your fingernail will scratch it. Great find. :icon_thumleft:

Thanks TN - Definitely not pure lead, had to scratch it with a knife.....I like the ideas of a riding crop end or a walking stick end - Thanks Everyone!
