eagle button found need help ID

Found this button at a place that dates around 1850 would love to have some info if possible it has gold plate and says.I MOORE & Co Then in small print it says TREBLE GILT STANDARD COL

That button is in nice shape. It books for $75 to $125. But with the bent shank it may go for about 60. That's just an educated guess though. Personally I would worry about the bent shank.

Cool button It's a 1812 to 20 period navy button.
I. Moore was from Birmingham England and in business from 1780 to 1858

lemon juice is cheaper

I use a 50/50 mix of lemon juice and water which I think will work well on that button. You have to watch it and not leave it in to long though. Some people do prefer aluminum jelly which works fine as well. I've just always used lemon juice and am hard headed and set in my ways I do use aluminum jelly on some buttons though.

If you do you use Aluminum Jelly....make sure you get the "blue" liquid. I have used this on buttons like yours and have had great results....just be sure to rinse it thoroughly afterwards.
