great digs!!! the counterstamp is hardcore.

great FE cent and buckle!, good hunt w the boy!!

Both finds are finds of a life time, Awesome hunt!!

Congrats to both of you!!

My son has a way of finding good stuff . The first time my dad took him detecting at the beach of an old local lake that was down over the winter he found a gold 1972 men's class
ring. After finding the deceased owners family it was given to his daughter . That made the local paper and one tv station . I figured it would be hard to top that find . Didn't take him 5 minutes of looking at an old house site to locate the buckle.

Took me 54 years to find my first buckle! Lucky little devil . . . well done, dad.

Awesome finds!

Great couple of finds. It took me 23 years to find my first Flying Eagle, & 20 yrs. to find my first notable belt plate from the Indian Wars of 1890 to 1900. Your off to a great start.

What a fun and wonderful find and a great early start to years of excitement. Congrats to both of you

Thanks ! The farmer who lined us out on this spot still has a school site and another long gone house to look over yet.
I'm going to soak the cent for a while and see if I can get a date . I did the peroxide trick at my parents before we left and the crust started flaking off next to the date .
