Dumping after a CRH

coin dumps

I dump about 500$ a time at tcf which imo is a terrible bank one of the worst, hidden fees up the wazoo. which is why i use them for dumping and i always get cash back i wouldnt trust them with my money.

My question is.. Maybe a bit off topic. But is their a thread or a place to see what banks use what currier.

I want to make my pickups and dumps at different boxing companies to help my odds. But i have no idea what each bank uses, or does it vary by location?

hey there theekman, just curious what tcf's you use.do you ever get shorted by thier machines on half dollars?sometimes i get shorted 1 here or there.i've been shorted 2.and then the week before last the machine jammed up and could'nt dump all that i had.so i had to go to the old stand by tcf (which i try to avoid because they're lazy and dont care and when i get shorted they say sorry its not our machine nothing we can do about it)and dump the rest.well i got shorted 6 half dollars $3 bucks at either one.i cant even make that in interest back on my account.maybe secretly the m achine is charging me a service fee.but i dont know where my missing half's wind up?and when i complain and say i'm going to close my accounts they just say ohhh kayyy!!!just wondering

I use tcf as my dump bank as well and the one here in metro-detroit jams all the time. I hate it. It has both shorted me and gaveme more then I put in. So some weeks I lose a Buck some I gain a Buck. The tellers hate having to unclog it. I try to just have them give me the key and let me do it. Has nit happened yet.

I use free standing tcf's as well as the ones inside of jewel osco grocery stores, some in the stores dont have coin counters though. I think their usually pretty accurate i dont mind if its a dollar off here or there so i dont pay much attention. Some seem to work better then others though. Theirs a few machines that can get really loud as your dumping and sound like their gunna fall apart right in front of you. And of course it takes a long time to dump in those machines but its a free checking acct so i dont mind

A really crappy bank. We had an account there, closed it in less than a year.

I've even seen them charge fees for the coin machine for ACCOUNT HOLDERS.

Banks use different couriers in each region, so ask at your bank and they can usually tell you.

I agree, my first few dumps were at TD and I filled the bag 15 times I'm actually probably going to try and run at least $5,000 through it soon because I'm thinking if closing my account.

And you'll make hundreds of coin hunters close their account when you make the whole district ban half dumps. It happened with TD and ordering, it can happen again with dumping.

Hey everyone, so my bank has a coin machine for members an I just wanted to know how much do you all dump in there at once? and do you all mix your coins or only drop halves one day and dimes etc another?

Hi jshane. Well I see many have given answers and some good advise to be had there. Let me give you my input as to what I experienced today.
Today I hit two dump banks, with a pick up in between. First dump was around $1200. Second was about $650. Most of my dumps fall in that range. I had been warned last week that changes (fees), were coming and now I know they start April 1. Unless its all an April fools joke, but I'm not counting on that. As you can see from their sign, they are going to put a fee on large dumps. They have yet to define large but I suggested $200. Bank lady says that sounds reasonable and she will let me know. If they go for it ill just dump nickels on them and make other arrangements for dimes and cents. Already dump halves in bags elsewhere. (At TD). I asked about rerolling and she said no.
Now some will criticize me for my volume I was doing but I am not the only, or the biggest dumper. So I am glad I was able to use them and flip a decent amount of coin and cull some silver. I now just need to make some different arraignments and continue on. I've got multiple options and I'm not worried about it at all. HH

Lol. Ya, I have offered many times to change the bags for them and if not for bank rules, I think they would go for it. But no key handed over yet. I have talked new tellers through the bag changing process. Lol

Just curious.... What are you all doing with so much change? I metal detect, so know nothing about what your up to

You will wear out your welcome real fast if you listen to these people! $500 a week at the same stop is the best. Otherwise the door will be shown to you quickly.

That is not always necessarily true.. At TD bank, the dime bag fills a $500.. I dump $750 at a time so they normally only have to change the bag once.. Very rarely do they have to change it twice.. The branches have no problem with it.. The people are always very friendly and I have become pretty close with some of them. Now If i was bringing in $1000 in halves every week and they had to change the bag 10 times just for me to dump, then I can see them getting upset and it leading to me being cut off.. You just have to know your limit and treat the circumstances differently at each bank that you go to.. Certain banks have better coin counters that won't top off as easily, so you can dump more there.. Though in reality, all things really depend on the tellers.. You just have to read them.. Smile and build a good relationship.. It really is funny though... I have branches that get upset when I bring $500 of halves in and I have branches that literally offered to take $2000 in halves a week, rolled.. It all depends on the Tellers.. Well.. At least until somebody higher up gets wise :laughing7:

Look through coin rolls for stuff we want to keep.

Now I see why you have so much change.... Wow bet you go through hundreds of dollars worth till u find a keeper

At times its in the tens, hundreds, or thousands of dollars before finding a keeper. But it's a treasure hunt, and like MDing you have good days and bad days. Some areas tend to have better finds than others.

I was doing about $500 a week, but spread out over 6 credit union branches in a 60 mile radius. But all the reports went to their headquarters, and yesterday, I was banned from the machine. Their coin counter was the only reason I opened the account 5 months ago. They said "no business use", but said nothing about "CRH". Today, when I closed my account, they said coin collecting was a business. I should have dumped rolls on them for awhile, but it's not worth it.

Rule 1. Never dump where you acquire your coins.

The TCFs by me use a hopper in the coin bin. I think it either counts 5k in denomination ir 5000 coins, then says it's full. I have 4 tcfs close by and rotate 3k in halves between 3 of them, every week. I try to rotate the one that I skip every week. The closest one to me sees me and about 1k - $1250 in halves every week. they've never said anything to me so far.

Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be dumping so much at once, but then I look at the fees they charge non-members, then figure they wouldn't care if someone dumped 5k at that rate. I also always leave most of my dump money in my account there for awhile, in hopes it makes them happy that they can earn money off my money. Anyways, so far it's worked for me, hopefully there's something that you can use.

Also, I think TCF in my area uses Loomis

I take in a $1000 a week and i'm still behind by about $2000
