Dug a Tribe of Injuns in the field today, 1860's 70's 80's

all finds today were found with two tone ferrous because these field sites are IRON infested!
buddy and I hunted two fields today where old homesteads used to be, we found them on an 1886 map. First site yeilded me 3 indians and the V nickel, and my buddy got hungry so we took a donut break...lol

next field I found 2 more indians for a total of 6 for the day. I don't remember ever digging 6 indians in a field in one day. I got:
1865, 1874, 1875, 1876, 1887, and 1905....man I was so close to some real key dates today!!!! I included a dirty pic for those who like that type of stuff..lol....and I will be going back, hoping to find some seated silver there!

the best ever for me was 6 ih, 2 Vs, 5 early Wheat's in one hole for me this year nice older dates!!!! MR TUFF

thanks! it was a first for me too! My best indian day ever was 8 indians total but most were 1900's

Very impressive coins... That would have been an amazing hunt for me. In the past 5 years of detecting, I have only found 1 Indian Head and I can't imagine why I haven't found more. I have about 150 Wheat Cents and some amazing silver but the Indians are hard to find. Good job...

Very impressive coins... That would have been an amazing hunt for me. In the past 5 years of detecting, I have only found 1 Indian Head and I can't imagine why I haven't found more. I have about 150 Wheat Cents and some amazing silver but the Indians are hard to find. Good job...

my goal this year is to find 75 indians...........I only need 4 to hit my goal, right now I have found 71 this year

They definitely can be deceiving because they can run lower on the VDI scale it seems. Elusive for me and the gear that I have... That's an amazing amount of Indian Heads to find in 10 years, let alone 1. You're proving me wrong every time I think there really aren't any in the ground, lol...

I hunt OLD farm houses 98% of the time all yr till crops come off then hit fields where even older farms once were. Farms are always good for a couple or more indians. I usually don't hunt places that don't have the potential to hold at least 100 yr old coins

one sweet hunt no doubt! i been dancin all around key dates myself this year .71 is very impressive.i'm at 41 for this year. your soil is kinder to IH's than out east here
