I dug everything above iron, yestrday I got three early date wheats, but I knew there was an indian hiding somewhere. This place is OLD!

Well here is a picture of the trash I dug, if it was non ferrous I dug it...lol

then finally I got a solid coin signal, grabbed my camera and caught the dig video! Pretty nice shape 1879, man if it had just been 2 years older.

here it is all cleaned up, pretty nice for a field copper, normally they are pretty bad from the fertilizer.

I will post the video, once I get it done and uploaded to youtube

Nice IH. You may want to take a look at your trash pile again. I think that's a toe tap on top.

The longer you detect, the more you begin to realize that the true prizes are not always as people would make you believe.

A nice smooth and green 1870s Indian Head penny is one of the rare feats of the hobby.

Before long, it will seem like you find at least one IH penny on every hunt, and the 1906, 1880,1889, 1896, 1904, etc. etc. stack up pretty fast.

But a nice one from the 1870s happens but seldom. They are the best of the series as a whole, and tend to be lousy when found.

Savor that one..... you will see what I mean.
I have to agree, this is only the second one from the 1870's I have dug, the first one was an 1870 and wouldn't ya know it, badly corroded, this one I will cherish!
