Got out this AM in the drizzle in Baltimore City and had a productive three-hour hunt. Overall there were 11 wheats, with the earliest being 1918.
Best finds: 1886 Indian Head Cent (first target dug), IMG_8030.JPG

1943 Ship halfpenny (hit by a mower?), IMG_8026.JPGIMG_8027.JPG

and an 1843 Large cent (petite head obverse and small lettering reverse - this small lettering was only used 1839-1843). IMG_8028.JPGIMG_8029.JPG

Thanks Hawks88. Within more rain the ground is getting a little more responsive and the signal for the LC was in the upper thirties on my Equinox. There's also a high-pitch tone I hear with large cents that is similar to a silver quarter. Anyway, it was down about 9 inches and the face and LIBERTY were clear from the start.

Thanks Tuberale. Saved some keepers today and had a good time.

You did well in the drizzle! :icon_thumright:

Thanks Nick. I knew it was going to be a muddy mess, but I like the way the signals seem to come alive with the wet ground.

You're welcome, McCDig! The ground has been way too dry for my liking around here.

Thanks Randy. Only day this week to fit in a hunt. Today's LC is my fourth large copper coin from this park, one that I just discovered in 2019.

Congrats on your finds. Another exceptional day in the park. Did you go back to the park we hunted?

That’s what I’m talking about. Great hunt:icon_thumright:

Nice job McCdig!!! It’s pouring here right now so I’m headed out to get muddy, signals should be poppin’ (I hope)

Thanks Jamie. Finds just keep showing up there.
Yes, same park where you got all that clad.

Thanks Rook. My third LC from this small park. They cannot hide from the Equinox.

Thanks Bob. You're getting what passed through here and, yes, it really poured late afternoon. Go wear out another shovel today.

Very nice finds. That large cent looks like you might be able to clean it up pretty well. It feels really awesome to find a large cent in the city! Congrats.
