Nice tooth save Gator. Those must be shark teeth.

I have a broken drilled tiger shark tooth. It would have been big. Here is an undrilled one. This next drilled shark tooth I'm still not sure of the type.

Those are awesome. You join Larson and Americus in my hero club. You guys find a lot of great stuff. Nice work.

Haha.. wish I could find one of those fish hooks Larson finds!

Hey Gator,

Thanks for showing us these teeth. Which natives do'ya think were doing the drilling? Your avatar tooth is much more fascinating in larger format & good lighting.

thanks for the chart

Yeah good chart.. these teeth were drilled by the Ais tribe here in Florida. At the time of European contact here in the 1500's they were by far the largest and most powerful tribe in the state..by the late 1600's they were extinct as a tribe. Things were very crazy down here..that's for sure.

Ha ha. I remember you, in a casual conversation, telling me Larson was your hero. I didn't know you had a club. Since you do, Bill is well suit for it. By the way, you make my hero list. Those nasty Adena points are nothing to sneer at.

That latest one isn't in that photo because I'm soaking it in a mixture of white glue.."Elmer's" and water overnight. That's a very good and safe way to make sure your bone and tooth artifacts don't become unstable as they dry out and fall apart on you. Even the sunlight can be damaging to perishables. Its a good Idea to stabalize your bone artifacts. If they are found in pretty solid condition you can make sure they are completely dry and give them a bath in a mix of acetone and duco cement..( Gomer's method)

When I mix up the Gomer glue I keep the remainder for later use in a sealed container. Family Dollar has the duco if you can't find it. The deer antlers I find never even bubble. The teeth are a must to treat.
