dream interpretation

I don't dream often, but when I do there are often people in my dreams that I haven't seen or even thought about in years. It seems that all my dreams are that way. I haven't even had these things on my mind. My dreams just don't make any sense to me. I would think they would be about what has been on your mind all day.

I'm watching Stephen Kings 'The Stand' on SciFi right now....it's the Dream Thing.....

Interpret this, please

Almost all my dreams start out with something bad happening to me, but I turn the tables and come out on top.

simonds....
Not at all. Most dreams are not about what is going on during the day, but rather about how you are thinking about the events or some event in your sub-conscious. For me, its how I feel about the event or how it affects me. Those feeling are often clouded by fear and just the business of the day. Dreams help you sort them out in a way. They try to hold up a flag to you that "somethings up". Good dreams work the same, they reinforce what we want or how we feel about things in our lives.

Rats, I was hoping for an interpretation. OK, here's an example of a recent dream. I was working at a gas station. This guy pulled up in a big truck and was giving me grief. It was late at night, he was acting like he was going to start a fight. So I pulled out a key and keyed the length of his truck! He jumps out and asks where my car is. So I point at one, (Isn't mine) he goes over and start breaking it to pieces. I jump in his truck and drive off...he chases me but can't catch up. I park it about four blocks away and run back to the station where I report him as a drive off.

The cops show up, and just then he pulls up in the truck he has found, and gets arrested. (I also tell them about him smashing up the car.)

Here is something to think about. You have dreams where there are people that you have never met. You see them clearly, they go about their lives, sometimes interacting with you, most times not. Suppose every one of those people are having the same dream, and you are one of the unknowns.

I hope that is not true

If it is then there is a really big guy (I'm BigDan...he had to be REALLY big) out there looking to pay me back.

Big Dan....
Here goes, not knowing you or any background I'm doing a lot of guessing here.
Gas station work represents you...manly.... blah blah.
Work at night reps threat or unknown situation.
Big guy and big truck reps a threat to you in your life or to your self image.

In your dream you don't thump the guy, you out smart him.

two results...either you are pleased about something you have accomplished that was overwhelming at one point, or you feel unsure of yourself when threatened and resort to tactics that aren't considered manly. I say that because in the end you didn't control the other guy, the police did.
Again, I could be way off the mark because I know nothing about you. I hope it is at least entertaining for you.

Thank you!

Very entertaining. I think you were pretty right with the part about dealing with a threat by using my head. A situation I've been dealing with in real life, not with someone, but some thing...and I can't just use force.

It does explain the trend in my dreams lately.

Bigdan, basically your dream means that you will have an obstacle, but will overcome it. Most dreams do mean something that is currently happening in your life, for good, or bad. The funny thing is that when you see people in your dreams you don't know, you have actually seen them in passing somewhere and at one time or another, even just passing in the street. The mind will store the image.

Most dreams will not make sense, so if you want to learn about them you really need to keep a pen and paper handy and write down as many details when you first wake. Don't write the story, rather the key words like waterfall, cliffs, rain, driving, animals, etc. If you have the key words it will help refresh the dream. It is amazing how quickly you will lose a dream and the message it may be sending. Also note that a combination of actions, or objects, may reinforce any dream.
