If you saw the post and videos by Sentinel the other day, then you know where I was hunting today He ventured out to the DIV hunt so I was flying solo today... The finds from this property are hit and miss as far as condition goes... unfortunately I made some very nice recoveries that seemed to all have plow encounters I'm still thrilled to have them Spent a total of 7 hours in the field today HH Jeff

Jeff ,Nice solo 7 hr. search "shame Josh wasn't there for some of this action", the CW Navy is a great looking button .I like the others as well. Nice LC's and flatties ..25 a few of those had to fake you out , the large ones, come out of the dirt , looking every bit like a coin , flip them over button . Did 5 hrs. today , I found some more but am 2 tired to post .. heading back at daybreak. Nice digs !! CMD

Jeff ,Nice solo 7 hr. search "shame Josh wasn't there for some of this action", the CW Navy is a great looking button .I like the others as well. i live here in minnesota and see you southern folk gets alot of old stuff i hunt for. its hard up here to find the old anymore. the no tresspassing and miles of farmland make it hard to find that little coin. but hey thats why its treasure to us. keep diggin

I know it's rough up that way.. I started detecting in Missouri and it's like night and day here Keep at it, you'll get some stuff this year

The "lined I" and marine buttons are excellent. I think the two piece civilian with some gilt is also a neat one.

I guess the dirty pennies are just the gravy icing.

I detected on the middle of a random farm in Virginia once as a kid. My uncle was living on a small farm near Marshall. I walked right through a Confederate camp because I was 10 and didn't find any Minie balls. I did find lots of camp lead, a religious medallion from the 1850's, and a couple of knapsack hooks. That was in walking a straight line walking to another field which had nothing and I thought looked better.

My point is that you had some excellent Virginia hunting today.

Everytime I read something you write I laugh, even if I'm listening to a sad song.. You should go back to that field.
