Took the granddaughter to the permission I call “The Wheat Field “ due to the number of wheaties I have pulled out of the yard. We started in the backyard and she scored a couple of pennies and a mason jar lid that she got really excited about :-) I wasn’t finding much when I got a nice midtone which I popped out of the ground and saw it was a nickel but when I rubbed some dirt off of it I saw some shine! A couple feet away I got another one, when we got home about an hour later and cleaned up our finds I confirmed that I had dug two War Nickels (1943 S and 1945 S). Hot dang I do love this hobby!!! Stay cool and keep swinging!!

Always a good day when you find a war nick, you found 2 and they are S mint which is even better. There has to be more in that wheatie field.

Congrats on the War nickels. That's always a good day.

I went from 1980 until two years ago with just one of those. In the past two years, I've dug TEN more! Love 'em! 🙌 Way to go!

Love finding War Nickels. Around me they sometimes pop out nice and shiny and sometimes have a brown crust like a normal clad nickel. Congrats!!

Sweet finds! :occasion14:

Way to go BLK HOLE, Congrats!!! TFS... "D"

Try and get a small brass brush, about 2 inches by3/4 inch covered with brass brussels, find one in a jewelry store it works fine and DOES not scratch any coin. Would work with your nickels to see the DATE.
