Double BIG 2021 gold...

What a crazy start to the 2021 detecting year. After a busy day me and the mrs decided to take the detectors out for a swing at a old cellar hole site. Not long in she got a nice hit and was shaking when she pulled out her first gold find. A big men’s 14k gold signet ring. She was so happy. Not long after that a little farther in the property I got my own nice deep hit and I couldn’t believe what I pulled out. A even bigger huge 14k gold ring myself. I was blown away. The odds of that happening to both of us finding two 14k big men’s rings on the same day on a short hunt was unbelievable. I think she’s hooked now after those finds. I also got a couple silver coins to top the hunt off. Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a great 2021 detecting season. Happy new year!! [emoji16][emoji106]

Striking gold like that is amazing, especially at a site that you never expect to see it at. Catching the glint of gold as a new detectorist will surely get you hooked.

Even though I’m still excited about the finds and had some great people posting to us we had a lot of unwanted attention and drama regarding the rings on some other places we posted them. I decided to leave and I am no longer a member on them. I’m going to keep this whole ring post up on here but from this point on I’m going to be very careful what I post and definitely think twice before I do. To others that find any personalized items with things like initials for example if you do post then make sure it’s not all visible or at least coloured out. It just opens up opportunities for people out there to try to claim things as their own and they’ll even try without any proof whatsoever. I’m all for rightful returns to genuine owners of any type of object but not without real proof. Save yourself the trouble and be careful with what you post for others to see. Shame our great start for our new year detecting season got so tainted. Thanks for taking the time on reading this.
