Hello All,

Did something I haven't done in about 6 years: I knocked on doors! It was a rainy muddy mess in the cane fields, and I figured I'd rather be near water and air conditioning on a day when the feels like temps were over 100 degrees (am I getting soft??! :laughing9: ). Anyhow, I got permission at a beautiful turn of the century home and got digging. Found a handful of wheaties and gawgag which I won't bore you with, but less than a foot from the front sidewalk I got a signal that blew my eardrums out at 3 inches deep and dug this :)

She's dateless, but I just love these coins. The owners wanted to keep the finds so I cleaned the wheats and rinsed off the quarter and left it with them too, taking the memories and photos home. Was a perfect day, and nice to see yet another silver in the total or this year!

Cheers,

Buck

Walking Liberties are so beautiful. Congrats on finding her.

Agreed. I think I've only dug 3 or so of these in 25 years. It's just not the normal era of coins that I'm after, so I don't hunt sites that date to the 1910-40 era.

That's a nice find BB ,( wish ya could have brought it home to your wife !) They only made those for 14 years- so they are a tough find . I was delighted to dig one in Colorado last fall , also a no date type two . ( the only one I've found in 11 years)

You are a nice guy I don't think I would've been able to part with it as easy as you did! I probably would've told them to go buy their own Metal Detector!! Or just gave them the Wheaties! Nice find, very nice find. HH

Any day with silver is a good day!

Great Post BB.
You can read a thousand posts in a row, and never hear of the land / home owner ever getting anything in return for the "privilege" of using their land. Without a place to use one, a metal detector is just a poor door stop.
Good on you.
The thrill is in the finding, and you got the pictures.

Dated or not, SLQ's are great finds- Congrats!
