Donuts, Margarita's & Good Friends...oh and some CW finds.
Wow! What a perfect NC weekend! So our buddy Jack....I mean Doug invited me over for a tad of hunting for a few days with some of the best Tnetter's around. He had promised me that he had single handedly removed all the ticks and snakes from the great state of North Carolina, so I was good to go. Just for precautions we prepared for the worst and hoped for the best.
Of course we had to take time to eat a few donuts. Rob had stopped by and had his truck loaded with every kind of donut that Krispy Kreme ever invented and Lanie's famous coffee cake. What was a girl to do? You know I couldn't turn him down.
So after the breakfast snack we took off to find the treasures. I found a train button, two wheats, a barrette and few other odd and ends and it was time for the next spot.
Here I find a nice 1899 Injun, a spoon and a neat pewter top to something and a harmonica reed.
Donut break. OH and a nice BBQ dinner that evening.
Next morning we get to the new spot....step out of the truck....and on to a....SNAKE!!!? What!! DOUG! But you promised! I thought I was going to die when he strolled over, picked up the snake and tossed it back into the ivy. I can tell ya right now, I ain't never seen no tan garter snake.
What? Another donut? Sure. Thanks, Rob!
We spent the next few hours hitting the CW site that MM had found. Bubba gets in on a hot spot and I can hear him hollering, "Hey Nana! Come over here!" I made my way to see what he had found and he insisted that I dig right there. Sure enough, big ole fat bullets! I dug two and shared with others that wanted to dig 'em. Thank you so much, Bubba! I ended up with four CW bullets and a little flat button and a bunch of other stuff.
I had such a wonderful time! Thanks so much for including me in your hunt and making us feel so welcome, Doug.
