Don't Know, Need Help IDing it...Some type of Pin Ring

I posted this somewhere else here on Tnet but it really belongs here. Found this with my new G2 Detector on a mining claim Me and some other Partners have. I think it's either Brass or Pewter and it say's "FOOTH CAL, CAMC-AU, 21383. It's VERY SMALL, (see Pic's. Thanks, Darrell

I think it is an ID-band put on the leg of a wild bird by a California state Wildlife Agency, or a University/College conducting a Wildlife study. Perhaps CAMC means California Agricultural and Mechanical College -- or something similar.

Sure looks like a bird band, probably aluminum.

Contact your states fish and wildlife dept. and relay the information, they might be able to tell you all the specifics. If by chance it was a waterfowl species, the US fish and wildlife service may be helpful. Good luck,
