Don't have a clue

Found this in a field about four inches down. It's brass. The area is surrounded by mid 18th & 19th century homes.

Looks like some type of belt attachment (slider) to me, could be of some age.

I'm thinking a small hand tool for tile work. Smooth the grout with the flat part and the "V" tip for veining between the tiles.

It looks to me like it's off of horse tack. They used to have brass pieces like that as part of the horse harness. Some of it was utilitarian (buckles,"D" rings, circle rings,etc.) some was purely for decoration. I have found a lot of it over the years. Joe
