Metal Detecting
Hello, been a while since I've been back here. I live in Brick, NJ. Stop detecting for several years but I got the urge to start up again. I lost my Whites DFX and 5900 in the flood, but just recently bought a Garretts AT Pro and been studying it. Looking forward to getting out and giving it a real field test.:icon_thumright:

Congrats on the new ATpro.

I have used mine on the beaches around here and I think it's a dam good detector for the money. It works great for me in the dry and wet sand. I even had it neck deep in the ocean and pulled a few trinkits. In the wet sand around here it ground balances around 10-11.
For the beach I run mine in Pro mode, Custom with the Iron Disc at 37. I usually dig everything that sounds off and VDIs over 38. I just first hit the iron audio button first to check if it makes that grunting sound. If it does its usually junk or a bottle cap. Bottle caps also have kinda low-high-low sound but you gotta practice with it in your backyard and get an ear for it. As a matter of fact practice with it a lot in your backyard using real coins, foil, nails and bottle caps.
Anyways, one day they will eventually open our beaches back up and we can hunt them again. Maybe I'll see ya out there.
Happy hunting.
Ace
