Dominica 1567

I was wondering if there is any other information regarding the fleet of Sir John Hawkins, and the treasure (supposed) that was lost on and around Dominica. Any assistance is appreciated.

I am still researching this...so far, to no avail. I lived in Portsmouth in 1999, but never was there any mention of, or rumors pertaining to this subject. The locals are unconcerned. There is a cannon in the water, just south of the Portsmouth harbor that is in shallow waters... and when I lived there, no one gave a second thought about it’s history...

As I recall, Hawkins lost 4 of his 5 vessels to the Spaniards on that third trip in 1567.
I'm not aware of any treasure.

I believe the only ship Hawkins captured was a Portuguese slave ship. So where would any “treasure” have come from?
