Great finds! I hear from sources here on this site that the rain increases your depth, but appearantly you don't need it! HH omnicognic 8)

Thats a great find NE. Just goes to show you its never hunted out. Plus if you found that at 8 inches you should make a not on the section of beach. It is probably a collection point withthe tides unless this was a lake. but then it could be with the wind swept waves. always be aware of these things. It will make you smarter than the avg guy out there doing the cherry picking and as onion once said Speed hunting.
As far as the rain theory is concerned this is true and the reason is simple. Water conducts electricity and therefore effect the mineral and metals in the soil . They can become energiized and recognized easier by the detector. Also it is true though that you may get more falses. Good with the bad but you will get a little deeper too. HH

the salt water Beach's i hunt are Salisbury mass and Hampton N H
