Doesn't anyone use the chat room?

Hello everyone !!!? I have been enjoying all of your posts for a while now. I am new to this forum and also to metal detecting. Was hoping that you all would use the chat room so I could listen in to techniques and such. I have learned a few things although I haven't had time to metal detect yet. Still learning the Garrett 250.

Funny that you should ask that question. I have been meaning to post the question myself for some time now. I'll be watching this post to see what everyone has to say about that chat room. I'd spend time there if there were others using it.

I just ordered a Garrett 250 for my boys to use. What do you think of it?

I checked out the chat room and my computer said I had to install something called active x and it could be a security risk. I don't have a clue what it was talking about so I forgot about the chat room. The forum works just fine for me.

Active X is a microsoft application/product. It's used to start the chatroom window running. It's good and bad in terms of security. If you have firewall software and virus software on your PC you should be ok to run the active X. I try not to freak out about such things myself. Good luck

Thanks Rod for the info. maybe there are more chickens out there like me who got scared off by the security warning. I'm supposed to have a firewall and anti-virus programs so maybe I'll check it out.

I've looked in the chat room a few times but I'm usually the only one there. As slow as I type anyway by the time I typed in a sentence everyone else would've had a whole conversation and be onto something else.

I've visited the chat room a few times and found two or three members there. Several times someone will sign in and then won't respond and then signs off. Kinda' like eavesdropping? If someone would arbitratily pick a time I'm sure more folks would join in. Just hit and miss doesn't work too good.

Apparently not. We probably need to set a certain day and time (preferably in the evening) to get everyone on in the Chat room and see if we can't get something going. I suggest Friday night 8 pm Central time. What do others thinK? Jim Cal

Jim Cal, we can give that time a trial but remember many folks go out on Friday nights. My wife and I usually go out to dinner and don't get home until later. Most of my friends and acquaintances do the same, kinda' a TGIF thing. One week day might be better but I will go with the consensus.

everytime I come tot his board.I look to see who or how many people are online and I open a window to the chat room while surfing the boards.Im in the chat room right now under relic/hunting,thats where ya'll can find me If you want to talk relic's etc....And you can even post pictures on there in the chat room,makes for a good time.I spent 4 fours chatting with some great ppl the other night in there.Daniel
