I'm guessing the thread was posted in the other forum first,,,,,Anyway, I've said it before, I'll say it again,,,,Ford Dodge and Chevy, which is better,,,,I've had the Ace series, 150-250-350 while I'll admit I never gave the 350 much of a chance, and had an immediate buyer when I decided to sell it. I will say that it taught me the usefulness of the DD coil. I hated the service I received from Garrett when I would call with a problem, I'm just not a Garrett fan, I've used the Ace line, I've played around with the AT Pro, and I can tell you, I don't understand why the ACE line is so popular. I'm willing to bet that "Woof" would agree with me here, for those who know, and know who woof is on here. "Price" does not make the detector. Nor does the "explained" model. IE: Beginner model, Intermediate model. Every manufacture has all the so called different model types. I happen to love my F-2 and my Discovery 2200 and honestly will never get rid of my old Tracker IV. I've used the Teknetics T2 the Omega, Fisher F-5 and have friends with the G2 and a lot of the different White's models. The Fisher F-2 is a so called beginner model, so is the Ace 250 that others in this thread have suggested you buy. I can't say for the others, but I can say I had the whole Ace line, and I didn't like the bell tone, I didn't like the set search modes of operation and the 350 only had 12 target segments. The Fisher F-2 shows 11 target segments, but will give you 95 different VID numbers for what the target might be. (more information) adds show it only has 3 search modes, but its really more because of how the notch system works. The ace line basically uses a type of notch out feature, when you go from Coin mode to jewelry mode, but they count it as 2 different search modes. I tell everyone, go look at as many models as you can. treat it like your buying a truck. If you're brother is a Dodge fan but you like what you seen in the Ford, buy the Ford. I have dealt with White's, Garrett and First Texas, and I have been treated extremely well from First Texas. Fisher is owned by First Texas Products.
