Does anyone know any "metal detecting" gossip?

Re: Does anyone know any "metal detecting" gossip?

I once was working on some equipment in a nationally known meat packer. Some employees were having a conversation at lunch time. One was telling the other that the shipment of meat to Porta Rico was refused because it couldn't pass inspection so they brought it back, ground it up, added garlic and repacked it as hotdogs to be sold at the ballpark. Now you know. Frank

Word has it China will soon stop putting MADE IN THE U.S.A. on the box.

Ooooh, that was low.... It makes me sick how much cheap, sweatshop crap this Country buys from them. No WONDER the jobless rate so high! Disgusting!

I agree. Although my comment was meant to be a little humorous it actually is based on fact. The lion share of key components used in the most expensive electronic devices (including top name brand detectors) come out of China. My DELL laptop computer I'm typing this on has a large MADE IN CHINA sticker on the back.

Some have suggested to me (although I haven't yet documented it) that many circuit boards for our most advanced weapons and jets are made for the U.S. by Chinese firms (either whole or partly assembled here).

China is advancing technologically at an astounding rate.

Re: Does anyone know any "metal detecting" gossip?

Maybe they made the boards for that drone and had a built in back door! Frank

Re: Does anyone know any "metal detecting" gossip?

Wonderful, just wonderful, Just what this site needs.

A gossip page!

Hey boys and girls, lets talk about all giggly stuff. You know, I combed my hair last night...

Did I tell you about my dogs hernia operation?...

I don't have anything to contribute to the hobby of metal detecting so I'll talk about how good I am at knitting or even about making toy boats.

Just what in hell happened to this site???

Is it a direct result of the overkill overkill permissiveness?

Where are the folks that used to post interesting things? Can anyone guess why they don't post anymore?

Does anyone think it might have to do with the child like posts?

======
Well, fire away at this post. Have fun.

Ralph

Someone occasionally slips some "grouchy pills" in a perfectly good bowl of oatmeal...

Re: Does anyone know any "metal detecting" gossip?

Ralph, you sound like you might be having some attitude issues. Perhaps you'd like to discuss what's bothering you? I'm a good listener. Has it occured to you that in most places the ground is to hard to do any detecting? In the meantime, life still goes on. Im sorry you're so disgusted at some of your fellow treasure hunters that enjoy cutting up, having a little fun...& "giggling".......but get over it!!! It's apparent you couldn't resist this post either! If you want to try & contaminate happy people having a little bit of fun......go somewhere else with your negative, judgmental attitude. Speaking for myself...& on behalf on anyone who has participated in this post.....shame on you for your demeaning...hateful..haggardy comments insinuating we are "child like" & whatever else you want to think. I think you owe some people an apology....& in the meantime....laugh a little...it's good for the soul!!!

I second that.

Re: Does anyone know any "metal detecting" gossip?

Ralph, wake up! How many times in a row do you want to hear,"What pinpointer should I use" ? You have to spice up the meal to keep it from becoming dull. By the way, I noticed you were interested enough to read and reply.. There is plenty of detecting stuff still being posted. Maybe you missed it because you chost to read the gossup instead. Check out my The Clue posts if you want to read metal. Frank

Re: Does anyone know any "metal detecting" gossip?

I can't believe the hits on this post, I make 900. Do I get the booby prize!!!! Oops, sorry about. I equate ICandy to Tim Tebou, new to the spectrum of consistency. I vote to keep posting IC, puts a smile on my face. I think Ralph has a point of view that is shared by many of us including me. I was getting perplexed with ICandy's post but now I enjoy the moment. I never named my detector but if I did it would be Sprout Boy. Let's all have fun with this forum, too much bad news going on in the world.
