I would like to conduct a little survey. to find out whether or not I have something extraordinary. I've seen several examples not only in my own collection yet some people for some reason have a hard time believing it. I will post mine and if you can could you please post yours as well.

Wow would you look at that! I'm going to have to take a very close look at all my points now. That's a trip! and very cool. I wonder where DionHurst01 found that little beauty- so well preserved. Nice piece there Gator. I would'a kept up w/ you but I found that I had a medical resistance to FB 8-) This is an interesting thread, I wonder what'll come of it... HH- Yakker

Packed in sand at the bottom of a creek.

Those are awesome examples! Never found anything on my points.I have how ever found three clumps of what I believe to be asphaltum. These were found on a couple different sites.Has anyone else ever found any?It smells like creosote!........mjm

Missing photos

An old time collector told me he once scrapped and scrubbed off most of the asphaltum off a particular artifact as he was showing me and dang if I can’t recollect exactly wether it was some kind of small bowl or a tool of some kind. He said that an archeologist later told him it would’ve really been something had he left all that on. He simply didn’t know what it was at that point in his collecting.

Not My Personal Find

Edit: I'm thinking Lyle Nickel found this piece. Correct me if I'm wrong.
