You know long ago I never thought much of it, I said to myself what am I going to find, fishing sinkers I’d lead, hooks, cans etc. well you do but it also presents an opportunity that wouldn’t be if they didn’t let the water levels go low, so I suggest you do it, and it’s not hard digging either. It’s nice to be out on the open tundra away from society that’s lost, and for awhile you can’t help but think long ago how settlers lived and depended on this land and water. So yeah get out and swing easy and slow you will find something nice I guarantee it, thank you

There’s a bridge near my house with a small creek. I recently heard that local kids turned over a canoe by the bridge and lost the kids dad’s 22 rifle with octagon barrel. That happened 50 yrs ago. I plan on trying to detect or magnet fish there this spring. It has a gravel bottom and is fairly shallow.

It sure would be nice to chat with persons around 100 years old or so, they have much to say and I’d take pleasure in that, schools or higher education don’t seem to concerned about keeping the past alive, it’s all a memory shamefully. I always said the past is important, and many say to me oh it’s the past, I tell them go tell all the dead soldiers at the cemetery that died for them that the past doesn’t mean much. Nothing more makes me mad when we are so dam ignorant of the past and frankly aren’t interested in it. I sit and watch so many older people watching younger folks and they don’t ask or care, no wonder they feel alone and forgotten about, boy the elderly im getting there to. But metal detecting is a history lesson, sorry folks but we must do what we can to keep historical facts alive, thank you
