Was scheduled to be at work around 4PM today, so I left early to head to Druid Hill Park in Baltimore City for an hour or so hunt. Not much time, but I had an area in mind and figured I'd see what I could find. I stuck to a small spot of about 20 x 20 feet and took my time listening to the signals. My first target was a 1940 wheat, then some trash, and then a 1923 Buff. A little more trash and then my first IHC of the hunt. I kept at it and though I did dig several iron nails or bolts, I did manage to unearth three more IHCs, one of which was within an inch of a moderate sized iron nut. So now you know why I didn't want to leave. Not a record day for Indians, but I'll take four any day. Much better than the last time I was at Druid; about a month ago I came away with just one wheat. Thanks for checking out the post and the pics. HH!!

Id Say You Earned A Day Off With Pay To Hunt Some More!! :occasion14:

Thanks treblehunter! They did clean up well and thankful too for the detail that came out. Pretty awesome to get a coin that you know was dropped in the 1890s.

I love it! To quote you "there is no finish line"! to which I'll add "but lots of good times and finds along the way". :)

Thank you Biener! Sorry for that last post reply back at you. Getting my posts mixed up. Yes, finding an Indian would make it a great hunt for me and this was just incredible for me. I was wondering if it was because the soil was so dry, almost like detecting in sand....maybe.

Those are some handsome looking coins for being buried for so long! :icon_thumright:
I always wonder why I must go to work when there is so much metal detecting that's piling up on my to-do list.

Hi Nick, thx for your comment! It's something I need to have balance with. It's brought me a lot of good times outdoors, in all kinds of weather. Keep meeting more and more detectorists and people who live near or work near places I detect. Had lunch this week with our Club president. Occassional volunteer opportunities arise along the way. Just an awesome hobby.

Thx geologyjohn! Not sorry I got the Fisher. Would have gone with a MineLab but didn't want to spring for that much cash on my upgrade machine....maybe someday. Most of the guys in our Club use the Garrett AT Pro.

Hey Tony! Always like to get a Buff that turns out decent and has a readable date. Hope to get back to that spot soon and see where the rest of the tribe is hiding.

You're right. Of all the Baltimore parks, the Indians come out best from this place.

Thanks GIB! Definitely a better hunt there than the time before.

Thx Cassews! I like the diamonds on the headdress ribbon on the 1877...definitely an early drop.

Very nice coin Finds! :occasion14:

Heck,I would quit work if I were you and just metal detect all the time. (just kidding)

That's a great group of finds for any hunt, never mind such a short one- Congrats!

You must be the Chief of their tribe for so many to follow you home!

Good hunt. Great condition they are in. Love them!

Thx Deftones! I turn no Indians away; they're all welcome in my pouch.
